Mission statement
UK Sport
UK Sport also leads the campaign to bring strategically important major sporting events to the UK. Working with national governing bodies, cities and regions and home country agencies, we invest around £4m every year to attract and stage significant events primarily of World and European status. Not only does this programme deliver economic and social benefits to the towns and cities where events are staged, but most importantly it also supports the UK’s performance ambitions and is helping to build up a network of suitably experienced and qualified volunteers and officials ahead of London 2012.
Sport England is the government agency responsible for building the foundations of sporting success, by creating a world-leading community sport environment of clubs, coaches, facilities and volunteers.
Skills Active’s day to day operations cover many aspects of active leisure, learning and well-being. Our activities encompass everything from setting standards for qualifications to helping individuals find the right career and directing employers to the best training for their staff.
CCPR is the national alliance of governing and representative bodies of sport and recreation. Our 305 members - organizations as diverse as The Football Association, British Water Ski and the Ramblers' Association - represent 150,000 clubs across the UK and some 8 million regular participants.
CCPR provides these organizations with a single, independent voice ensuring that their interests are represented and that they have the skills and capacity to deliver high quality sport and recreation across the country.

Sports Leaders UK changes lives: its range of awards and qualifications equips people with the skills and motivation to create and run sporting activities in the community.
Each year 200,000 young people train to be Sports Leaders by taking part in Sports Leaders UK courses, the majority through their schools, colleges and universities. Now, a growing number of courses are delivered in prisons, youth offending institutes, and a variety of local youth and community organisations. This provides opportunities for young people to volunteer as a Sports Leader and take up a purposeful role within their community, gaining recognition for their skills as a leader, and with this develop a valuable sense of self-worth. Many build and pursue ambitions for further education, training, and future employment which they would not have otherwise dreamt of.

Our vision is UK coaching excellence enabling every child, player and athlete to follow their dreams, have fun and fulfill their potential.
We are a UK-registered charity, employing 50 staff members, based at our Headquarters in Leeds and at sites across England.
Develop coach learning and support that complements sports-specific programs and aligns with public policy.
Provide research and good practice that benefits coaching
Support and challenge our partners to improve their coaching systems and grow their contribution to a cohesive UK coaching system.
The Youth Sport Trust is passionate about helping all young people to achieve their full potential - and we also have a range of support available to those working in education and school sport. Our extensive range of programmes and initiatives; sport and education resources; events and continuing professional development programmes; and of course our school Membership scheme are all created to achieve the best possible outcomes for young people. Our specialist staff works closely with all schools (primary, secondary and special educational needs) and a range of partners including National Governing Bodies of Sport, our corporate partners and Government, to get even more young people involved in PE and school sport. To find out exactly how we can help or how you can use the power of PE and school sport to change the lives of your young people, please use the menus on the left hand side of this screen or use our search facility.
